Wedding

Hi. I’m Belinda

documentary photographer in south west France

My career as a photographer to date has taken me to many wonderful places and the opportunity to work with amazing people.

I’ve photographed ballerinas, actors, composers, television presenters – and more importantly, many wonderful couples celebrating their love at their incredible weddings.

My work has been featured in many print and media outlets, as well as in international art publications and as part of an exhibition in the Tate Modern, London.

a life in photography

I’m a documentary & fine art wedding photographer, based in the breathtakingly gorgeous south west France, near the town of Bergerac, where I live with my husband, son, and two Golden Retrievers. There’s something lovely about the sense of community here, as well as the amazing scenery and stunning architecture.

I’m pretty lucky.

I’ve always loved photography and visual media, ever since I was small. As soon as I was big enough to hold a camera, I helped out in my father’s broadcasting business; I spent much of my childhood on film sets or in editing suites. By the time I was ten, I could rig up an outside broadcast unit travelling at speed on the way to a location; talk about composure under pressure!

Now, I feel incredibly privileged to be able to run my own business, doing what I love and helping other people capture their most important, cherished memories.

On a personal note, I like dogs, misty sunrises, pillows, wine, books, old cameras, meditation, mysterious moments, and cheese (not necessarily in that order).

I also like photographing weddings. Meet me and listen to me enthuse about what I do, and you’ll come back to this page, cross out ‘like’ and put ‘LOVE’. And that’s what it’s all about. Love what you do and you’ll be the best you can be.

When I’m not documenting weddings, I love photographing children, reportage style. Children have a unique and open way of interacting with a photographer; once we have their trust, they allow us to reveal their inner selves. It’s a quality that we tend to lose as we get older, a bit like being able to see fairies and do backbends. I don’t believe that we have to lose that ability to show our souls to the camera, though, and that’s why I do what I do.

If you’re wondering about the fairies, though, you’ll have to come to your own conclusions on that one.
